Tri-Delta Resource's first website used a primitive content management system.  Integration with their Citrix portal was not clean, and various parts of the website either didn't work, or didn't look like they were part of the same site.  This project also included setup of social media sites.

The East Woods Skate Plaza is a project of the Eastwood Neighborhood Association (ENA). During the almost decade from the beginning of the Skate Park Research Committee to just before the Grand Opening in June of 2014, the association had a website created and maintained by a number of different volunteers. Someone eventually moved the site into WordPress.

However, as with their other sites, they had difficulty keeping the site up-to-date and brought in eKamria to assist.

As all the dreams began to turn to reality, the committee began communicating more of the progress through the website. When it was time for the Grand Opening, they decided on a significant "refresh" of the Wordpress site.

Nader Maroun - Syracuse City Counselor website

Nader Maroun approached eKamria initially with a need for a website for his re-election campaign for Syracuse City Common Councilor.  He needed a short turnaround time because his first fundraiser was right around the corner and he wanted to accept RSVPs for the event and donations from the website. 

With that deadline met, and his election won, it was easy to transform the Joomla! Content Management website to a general information site for his City Council work.

AFICA Where Beauty's Natural website

Working with AFICA's owner has been an interesting and rewarding experience.  She approached eKamria about providing a new website for her evolving business of skin and hair care products.  Her earlier website was more focused on her salon and the services provided there. Her business model was moving toward manufacturing and selling her products without a storefront.

It took a number of years for her to get to the point she was ready to launch her website -- and we waited with her -- meeting periodically for updates on her progress. Her attention to detail and planning has always been impressive.

When she had her first product line ready, we began building her Joomla! Content Management System website and had it ready by her Grand Opening celebration.  There will not be restrications when AFICA is ready to expand product lines and add new features to the online experience -- the website will be able to grow with AFICA.

Central New York Research Corporation website

Central New York Research Corporation manages the medical research initiatives for Veterans at the Syracuse VA Medical Center.  They have been in existance for many years, but never had their own website.  Their online presence consisted of a page on the VA website.  

The main goals of this project, besides having a modern online presence, where to provide a mechanism for online fundraising and an Intranet for the Principal Investigators, Board of Directors and employees to access documentation related to their roles. A new website using the Joomla! Content Management System was able to meet the requirements, and provide plenty of flexibility for growth and enhancements for the future.

Website features include:

  • A private login area (Intranet) for the Principal Investigators, Board of Directors and staff, including granular access control security so documents and other information are only available to the appropriate person or group
  • A special "unpublished" landing page to provide new hires all required paperwork and forms

Patsy's Pizza is a long-time customer of Web.com and built their website long before most small businesses even considered it.  One of the benefits Patsy's Pizza enjoyed was the ability to change the content of the website on their own.  Recently, they noticed the site was not keeping up with changes in web technology.  One troubling issue was the mobile site that Web.com provided appeared very archaic, far from representing the business, and they couldn't figure out how to update it.  Other issues included difficulty changing prices and Google presenting old menu prices and the incorrect name for their business on the maps.

They called on eKamria for assistance with these issues.  As a starting point, we contacted Web.com on the client's behalf.  We were very happy to find out that Web.com would update the website to a new responsive site, eliminating the need for a mobile site -- ABSOLUTELY FREE.  We then become the interface with Web.com, talking with them in the language of "the web."  Web.com did a very nice job.  We did testing and follow-up to make sure all was working well -- and that Patsy's Pizza received the best possible result.

The problems with Google were also corrected.

Results provided to Patsy's Pizza:

  • Through interactions with Web.com, learned Patsy's Pizza was eligible for a website upgrade to a new responsive site for ABSOLUTELY no additional charge
  • Addition of a favicon, including recommendation of design
  • Testing and accountablility reporting with Web.com on all the changes
  • Follow-up to eliminate the mobile site, which was still present after the responsive website went live
  • Provided Web.com the solution to the incorrect business name on the Google map.  Correcting this seemed to be the solution to the wrong menu appearing -- visitors are now directed to the website

The Professional Consultants Association of Central New York is a long-standing organization in the community.  They put out a request for proposal through their membership, and we were very happy to be selected from a number of submissions.  The PCA website dated back to at least 2001.  While the group had (and has) a dedicated webmaster, an overhaul of the site was beyond the time-commitment needed from a volunteer.  Additionally, the webmaster was also maintaining a separate Wordpress blog.  Keeping everything up-to-date using the old technology was not only a challenge, but it wasn't working well.

Important requirements for the new website was that it could be easily maintained, especially the membership directory and the meeting schedule.  They also needed a streamlined membership application process and improvements to payment options.

eKamria provided a solution using the Joomla! Content Management System.  

Website design features include:

  • Membership application workflow - a paperless online process was created for membership application.  New applications are automatically emailed to appropriate PCA Board members for consideration.  The application process becomes the basis for the beginning of the potential member's directory listing.  Once an applicant is approved for membership, the webmaster "turns on" the directory listing with one click, instantly publishing the new directory listing.  All members have the ability to maintain their own listing.  This has provided an easy way to keep the directory up-to-date, and shifts individual listing updates from the webmaster to each member.
  • The separate Wordpress blog was incorporated into the main PCA site, eliminating the need to maintain two websites and providing improved SEO for the main site.

The SUN Group of CNY (Sustainable Upstate Network) is an organization of local business people that work in companies that promote sustainability initiatives.  A long-standing organization, it had a website that that was developed in the earlier days of websites and was in need of a modern overhaul.
