Horned Dorset Inn Website Redesign & Ongoing Support

A client referred the Horned Dorset Inn to eKamria after the Inn’s previous hosting and maintenance provider felt “too corporate”. The Inn wanted a more personalized relationship and responsive support, so they chose to move their website hosting, maintenance, and ongoing support to eKamria.

During our discussions, we recommended transitioning the website from WordPress to Joomla! for greater flexibility and easier content management.

Supporting a Key Initiative: Glimmerglass Music Festival

One of the Horned Dorset Inn’s most important annual projects is providing prepared meals for attendees of the Glimmerglass Music Festival. We developed a custom online ordering process that:

Displays a calendar of performances with links to order meals for the correct date
Automatically disables ordering after the cutoff date to prevent errors
Generates order summaries to streamline meal preparation
Produces pick lists for labeling and organizing meals for delivery at the event

This process significantly reduced ordering mistakes and improved efficiency for both customers and staff.

Simplifying Ongoing Updates

We also built tools to make it easier for the Inn to manage its website content:

A system for weekly “at-home” meal delivery menus that staff can update without technical help
An event management system for special dinner events that boosts visibility by automatically displaying event summaries in multiple key areas of the site, while also removing past events to keep the content fresh and up-to-date.
